Fewer than 300 Malayan Tigers are estimated to be left in the world. The Palm Beach Zoo is very active in the Malayan Tiger Species Survival Plan, working with other accredited zoos to manage the population, protect habitat and stop poaching activities.
In fact, we're hoping to hear the pitter-patter of tiger cub feet if our pairing of long time Zoo resident Berapi with her boyfriend Mata works out. To help support these efforts, we're hosting our second annual Palm Beach Zoo “Save the Tiger 5k” run on May 17, 2014. This unique run winds through Dreher Park and finishes in the spectacular Fountain Plaza inside the Zoo!
